Howdy. I have just purchased a early 70's Kustom K250-1 amp with the inverted 1-18-B speaker box. This thing kicks a**. I am looking for direction in locating a power switch. Right now it has to be plugged and unplugged.

Welcome to the place!
You are facing the biggest problem of owning a metalfront Kustom amp, dead switches. The switch that you need hasn't been made since the 1970s and any new ones have long been sourced and used to replace dead ones.
If the switch is only broken where the threaded mounting sleeve connects to the switch body, then you can make the switch operational again by using two nylon cable ties to secure the switch body to the metal mounting bracket. At least that way the switch will still look original and work like it should.
If somebody has already gone in and either removed the old switch or damaged it beyond repair, then you might find a used one on eBay or there was a replacement that some guys here had found, but it was very expensive and didn't look like the original ones.
The two front panel switches (polarity and power) are exactly the same, so if the polarity switch is still good, you could swap them and at the same time replace the power cord for a three wire one.
Tell us what shape your switch is in and we can help you try and fix it or replace it.

I don't cringe, it's your amp and you can do whatever you want to do with it. If it's done nicely then it's all good. I hate seeing any amp get hacked up by an idiot.
If the amp's power switch is set so that it is always on, it can be plugged into a power strip with a switch, and then that switch will turn on and off the amp.
As for the lights in the original switches, they can be replaced when they burn out.

You can change the bulbs from the front of the amp if you use a piece of rubber hose.
I'm sure that you can do a nice job of drilling holes, but some of things that I've seen would make you cringe.
