I was watching a late-night TV Show on NBC last night (4/17). I believe its called, "Last Call." Anyway, Sheryl Crowe was on and she performed a song off of her new album. Her entire band had Kustoms!!! There were 4x12's and 2x15's + heads all over the stage! I counted AT LEAST (12) cabinets. I think they were the new ones, though...... I think this because they were all Charcoal Grey "sparkle" tuck'n'roll. There were a LOT of Kustoms on that stage. I don't think it would've been possible to get that many perfectly matched and mint condition Vintage Kustoms. Plus, I don't think Vintage Kustoms came in a 4x12 cabinet configuration. Anyway, it was great to see all those tuck'n'roll amps up on the stage!

I saw a special on VH1 behind the music and she was running a lot of the new Kustom cabinets. New 2x15's with the 4x10 cabinets. The new ones don't have the black insulation, so you can see the wood backs through the port holes. The original 2x15 cabinets are 12 rows of T&R and the old style 4x12 cabinets were 14 T&R. All the same, Kustoms in the spotlight are a great sight to behold. Don

Who knows????? Maybe if she and some other pro's start using Kustoms, it will renew the demand and inspire the new Kustom "Conglomerate" to start making their version of the Tuck'n'Roll again. Besides the fact that I just think its a good thing..... this will make our Vintage Kustoms more "prestigious" (Please know that I'm not into that sort of thing, but I couldn't think of a better word. I think you all know what I mean......"Wow! Is that an ORIGINAL Kustom?!?!). Sadly, the new Kustom has abandoned the tuck'n'roll from what I hear. They're now concentrating on low-end, small amps and "PA's-in-a-Box".

Hey...prestigious... I like that word...I got phone calls from several friends who know what a fiend I am about my tuck n roll ..they were all like.."hey Ed...get to a TV quick...SC is on the tube and there's kustoms like all over the place!!!"...it was really cool to get the calls..but sadly i didn't get to see SC's concert... I would imagine that they are at least mostly all new rigs...or should i say all new/discontinued rigs...its a smart move on her part and I'm glad to see it...she's a hound for cool and vintage gear...saw a nice guitar mag on here a couple years back... i think it was Guitar Player...she was front cover in black leather and the subtitle was "SC...is for real".. anyway...fun stuff huh...
