I'm looking at a 215 Kustom bass cabinet. Asking price is $400 and says has EV's in it. A few torn spots, one on the bottom front of the naug.
I'm new at this again (yes, the church is going modern and needs a bass player tho my roots are 70's R&R but any chance to play again!) but still have my Kustom Charger and Rick from 1974.
Please give me some pointers, advice especially on the cost. I'm reading all these posts. Good to be back. Thanks!!!

It could be worth $400 if it really has EV's. Look thru the grille cloth - some EV's say "EV" on the speaker voice coil caps.
Test carefully at high and low volume to check for voice coil rubbing (speaker will rattle).
Good luck.

Thanks! I am now the proud owner of a new Kustom 215. We took the back off to be sure of the EV's (oddly enough 15L's but my 20+ year old speaker catalogue shows the exact same specs including magnet size/wt. for the 15Leads as the EV 15B's. Ended up paying $325 (several tears but it sure does look good with my Peavy Stardard 130 w-rms fitting neatly on top). Reading all the archives (okay, not all but through page 22) helped a great deal. Learned alot. This really is a Kool site. Thanks to all!

Thanks. Will appreciate the info. The old catalogue I have has identical specs for the two down to the same 22 lbs for the speaker but no frequency response. Anyway, they sound great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
