I had one Bass 250 that I bought with a scratchy then non-working top preamp channel (the "selectone" channel) so I bought a second one recently and within 2 weeks of playing that one in clubs and practice the top channel died in the same exact way.
Is this a 'thing' with this model. I looked through the forum to see if anybody else has mentioned the same problem and I don't think I found anything definitive.
Any leads would be appreciated, after I played one that actually worked right I really really really miss having both the channels. These amps rule.
Oh yeah, and when are some posts of scematics gonna happen.
Jae.

My suggestion would be to work on the molex connector that connects the wires to the channel circuit board. Kustom had a lot of problems with the connectors. We used to cut off the plug and hand wire it to the board. Kustom was having problems 30 years ago with the plugs, I have to think the problems with the plugs haven't gone away with time passing. This was one suggestion that Kustom issued to dealers on 250 series and that era of amps that used the connectors. Good luck on the repairs and let us know if this solves your amps problems.

I agree with pleat. Look at those big white molex connectors. Carefully unplug them. Spray some DeOxit in on the pins, being very careful not to get it anywhere else. Or try wiping them with a q-tip that's wet with it. Sometimes it's just old dead fly crap and whatever in them. Plug them in and out a few times too to work the metal bright. Maybe that'll get it up and thumping. If not, try what pleat said and solder them... Peavey Bass, Musician, Standard, etc. heads, the old ones of the mid to late 70's also suffered from the same problem.
