My 200B-1 was idle for 15 years (until now). It sounds great but the pots are a little scratchy. I've had good results using 'CRC Electronic Contact Spray' (NON-lubricating) on some other stuff. I was thinking about opening up the head of my Kustom and spraying all the pots. Then I thought about spraying ALL the electronic circuitry in there. Is this a good or a bad idea?

It's okay to use DeOxit 5, but VERY sparingly, only spraying inside the pots. Do not let it run out all over!!! It can cause things to arc across that should not be communicating with one another and can cause damage. Spray it a quick shot and then work the pot back and forth. DeOxit has a cleaner and light lube that is good. Gary Hull uses it and recommends it, but warns against using too much--the word is SPARINGLY, as in less is more. Put an old rag under the area too be safe and remember to spray quickly and a little bit, and move that pot back and forth 20 times. Good luck.
