Joe Bonamassa is profiled in Guitar Player Magazine this month. He's famous for those semi-hollow bodied guitars I love so much.

Anyway, on page 88, sadly obscured by an array of more Fender amps than I would ever care to have, is a lonely Kustom amp. The ports are fairly close to the top, but it looks like an old K-100. He prefers using the older amps, particular Fenders. Someone mentioned Sheryl Crow uses Kustoms. Does she still?

A few years back Sheryl Crow toured with a backline of Kustom cabinets, but I believe that they were all the newer Chinese made stuff.

All you could see were the speaker cabs, all of the heads were hidden from view, so I don't know what amps were being used to power them.

Believe it or not, I was watching Hotel for Dogs last night, about two kids staying with two foster parents who played in a band. In one quick scene, in the room the kids slept in was a Kustom speaker cabinet. Looked like a PA cabinet. I saw it. The wife did not believe me. So, I stopped and rewinded and sure enough, there it was.

One of my fiancee's cousins was over yesterday and when I told him I owned a Kustom, he couldn't believe it. Said he'd seen a local band playing on them, which is odd because his kind of music is 'Bullet for my Valentine'.

We had a good jam. Naturally he mopped me under the table with his finesse, but I'm really more of a science-fiction writer than anything else. I'm real surprised these things aren't popping up more. You sure as hell don't forget them. They're cooler looking than a (shudder) crate amp.

When I went to Kennett,Mo to look at that alleged 600 Pa set there was a sign on the north end of town that said home of Sheryl Crow.. One of those Hmm I didn't know that moments... The guy that had that alleged 8 channel amp said he knew of where 2 2-15H cabs were at some place guys practiced. I had the impression that Kustom was popular and Kasino stuff too..... I know Sheryl used Kustom's but I'm not sure of vintage.

It's Peter Stroud... And here's a better picture:

Not a bad setup... hey, I like Gibsons, so I guess that works..
