I noticed a difference between the reverb controls on the two K250 heads that I'm trying to decide between. The K250-2 has regular pot to for the reverb control and the K250-4 has a pull pot for increased reverb (or better control over the range of the dial). Both sound about the same when maxed out (the K250-4 pulled out to boost reverb).
Was this a difference between all of the -2 and -4 models or is it a variation from year to year that would have been on both models made at the same time? I haven't seen any mention of the pull boost for the reverb control in the literature.

Steve:
Some of the metalfronts did have a pull pot on the reverb control. The schematic I have for PC5069 (FX with Selective Boost & Fuzz) shows it.
All it does is add a resistor in parallel to the inverting input ground reference resistor, which will increase the gain of the drive stage to the tank input.
In a way, it's like the dwell control on an outboard Fender Reverb unit.
Milo:
I don't know if this was a later addition to the circuitry or not, but the schematic that show it is dated 7-71. My copy of the schematic for the FX board with only reverb and trem/vib does not show the switch, and is dated 5-71.

MILO! Amps are not just for fun......they feed the soul.....they are the nectar that sweetens our life....they are the sound that sooths the beast.....they are the stuff that makes the women crazy........as in get that shit out of the living room! That alone is worth the cost.
Grab the stack, you'll hate yourself later for not getting it.

When did Kustom amps begin to become STACKS? I see it here and on Ebay. Marshalls were 2 cabs with a amp head on top, a stack. One cabinet and an amp, a half stack. But Kustoms Fenders, Ampeg, Acoustic, and the rest were never refered to as a stack. Kustoms would be referred to as a piggy-back. Just grousing.

I have a matched set of Kustom 2-15" Jensens + 1-15" Horn. Obviously they stand tall like all the 3-15's cab. And heavy. I tried to get a buddy of mine to help me stack one on top of each other standing up. (obviously, I wasn't serious.) I told him we'd need at least an 11' tall ceiling and a step ladder to get to the controls. Now THAT's a stack!

I did stop at the Tremorbender booth briefly during the last fall/winter show so we have at least seen each other.
If I wasn't looking for design job right now I wouldn't be worrying about $50-75 on the price of this Kustom I like. It's rough on this side of the state if you have anything to do with design or manufacturing.
I'll make sure to stop at the booth during the next show.
