Just grabbed a pretty clean black Hustler 410 from a local Tulsa pawn for $200, tremolo, vibrato and reverb all work (though reverb is a little weak, any ideas?). The only faults are pilot light out, missing Hustler badge and a couple of tears in the grill cloth. Sounds great, and looks sweet sitting beside my plushy Plush. SN is 98735, anyone have any idea of year of manufacture? I've always been a tuber, but I do like this ol' Kansas made Kustom.......Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,
Production date for SN 98735 was 2/25/73 plus or minus a few weeks.

Ronnie,
you may want to check out the reverb tank in the bottom of the amp. A lot of times, one of the reverb springs may be broken. If everything looks good, then you may have some problems in the electronics, or it may be someone replaced the reverb tank with a wrong replacement tank. Hard to say with a 40 year old amp, but I'm sure someone on the site will have more input.

Welcome to the joint!

Tarnish on the both the Aluminum female jacks and male plugs feeding the reverb tank have been known to creat weak reverb and sqeals/feedback.
The replacement bulb for your amp is a GE 335, the easyest way to get in in and out out once you gently pry out the blue lamp cover is to slip a lenght of small vacume hose over the bulb, or just take the time to drop the whole switch assy off of the amps face plate.

Welcome to the place!

Always happy to meet a new Kustom owner. You also own a Plush? You must love the padded amps.

The first thing I'd check for your reverb problem, is try switching the send and return RCA plugs going to the tank. It may be that the tank is plugged in backwards.
