Thump - thump - thump [message #1749] Tue, 06 August 2002 11:26 Go to next message

My Kustom 200 amp makes a thump - thump - thump noise and sends a blast of air from the front each time strong enough to blow out a candle. Can anyone offer a solution to this problem? It seems like a capacitor discharging improperly. Thanks, Chas Bones

Chas, Most likely, you've got one or more bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. After twenty years or more of service, it's a great idea to replace all large caps (WATCH OUT FOR THE POLARITY!). If you're not a tech, have it done - this will prevent max smoke or explosion. atch
