Hello, as I stated in a previous post, I recently acquired a Kasino Snake Eyes Bass head. I have fully restored the amp, inside and out, and I'm ready to say it has loads of power, as this was their most powerful bass amp at the time. I added an external fuseholder, removed the polarity switch, and added a grounded and shielded power cord, and voila! No hiss, no hum-perfection! The key is to use the single point chassis ground method. The speaker jack on this model is where the chassis ground is made. The connection comes from the filter caps. Add the ground of the grounded cord to the same connection as the speaker jack right at the filter cap, to avoid the ground loop effect. When I first got the head, it was not working! Just a loud squeal at 875hz, which blew my test speaker! The op amp was the culprit. Obsolete, but replacement part #s still available if you look hard enough. Here are some of the #s I came up with, all of which will work: ua739(pc or dc suffix also),mc1303p,lm1303n,ecg725,nte725,tba231,sn76131n. I found my replacements on Ebay, and now have several spares. You can also adapt an 8 pin dual op amp to work as well, and thereby you will eliminate the lag circuit that the obsolete 14 pin op amps used. Anyway, I'm very impressed with the preamps's ability to produce a variety of tone options. I will be playing out with it soon. In the meantime, rock on Kustom owners! John

I used an NTE725, and it's extremely quiet. I have 3 ua739 ICs as spares, and have not plugged one in yet, nor do I think I will. One will have to dig deep to find these, but luckily, they're out there somewhere(for now)
