this is mainly a test- i just purchased a kustom K250 & 2X15 silver sparkle tuck-n-roll and was trying to find out info and came across this site-looking forward to coming back-I don't know anything about the kustom except being from minneapolis and fan of flipps- i couldn't pass up the K250- it needs a speaker reconed- i play a chandler 12 string Bass guitar and can't find a bass amp with good tone hoping the kustom with some distortion will give me that killer 12 string monster tone (AKA Cheap trick) any suggestions feel free to email me otherwise i'll be back to get some info on my new (old) kustom K250
thanks a million jeff

well welcome Flipp Fan...been watching those guys for a number of years now...can't say I'm up on all their music...but really admire their attitude..and love their choice of gear!
You've made a great choice in your kustom amp for your style..the ported 2x15 cab will give you tons of low end and the design of the kustom amps makes them really transparent, and quick so they support even multiple layers of distort/overdrive pedals... I'd also recommend adding a parametric eq pedal in your tone chain right after the pedals and right before you hit the amp...it can take it and you'll be amazed at the additional tone you can get from the rig...be sure you got your shows tied tight before you take the rig past 4 cause its gonna blow your socks off...play loud..ET!

Welcome to the site. You do have a very nice amp from your description. I have posted this before some where on the site, but here might be a good spot to pass the info on again. The bottom jack on both channels has a much higher gain than the top jack. Kustom did this to accept different gain guitars and basses. Roughly single coil vs. humbucking. If you look at the repairs and service posts you will find all that I wrote and some mods that can be made in the circuit boards. The first run of amps were low in gain and kustom sent out the resistor changes to be made. Glad to have you aboard. Don

Glad you found us Jeff! I'm glad to have another K250 fan with us. These krazy guys will help you with any questions, all you have to do is ask. Now that the "bug" has sunk it's teeth into you-- you need to buy a 200B-1 head too! They work very nicely with the K250, for a stereo bass rig, or for a back-up head. And, then you need to buy a 100 head..... and..........well, just buy EVERY Kustom you see! Thump on!

pay no attention to that woman behind the blue curtin...if you go buying up a bunch of kustoms then there won't be any for me.. I mean, heck, I've only got about 30 rigs right now..which makes me a rooky compared to the serious kollectors...oh , and it gets worse...most of mine are black...yep..basic..boring (better sounding) black..its not entirely my fault..everytime I see a sparkly rig, somebody's got more toy money than me and I loose out..so I suspect you'll just turn out to be another ebay bully, gettin all the cool amps that Deb is urging you to buy... and I'll be stuck with my old black rigs (sniff).. but welcome anyway....most likely become friends... probably even buy you a beer at the Indy show when you show up with some cool sparkly rig...think I'll just keep the covers on mine..nobody'll notice anyway....

I'm speaking to you from behind my Black and Blue curtain: ET, phone home! Ha ha! Black is where it's at for the budget- minded Kustom folk. And, there's nothing wrong with that! At least you own Kustoms! ( I have some BLACK Peavey crap for sale.........gonna take the money and buy some more Kustoms). No really, black is fine. I have a few black pieces and I do think that they sound just as good as my blue sparkle pieces. Black is easier to find, and therefore brings a Kustom kollector pleasure, and that is what we are all after here--isn't it? Oh, ET buy some sparkle naugahuyde and make covers out of it, put some grillcloth on the front, a Kustom embroidered patch-- then everybody will think that you have sparkle gear!!
