I received samples from the Naugahyde company of their "Zodiac" line of material which is the OEM stuff used on the KUSTOM amps with a sparkle finish. The current stuff differs slightly (original was gold sparkle on black, current is gold sparkle on yellow), however I would still like to know which line of material the solid black was from. Any answers?

I have not been able to discern a close match for Black. All the vintage Gold that I have seen has looked identical to the current samples; the only Gold with black sparkle that I have seen has been heavily-yellowed Charcoal that now has a Gold with black sparkle look. Do you have a vintage piece of gear that has Gold with black sparkle and is the original color ?

Believe it or not, JoAnn Fabrics has some black vinyl that looks VERY close to the original black. It works very good for replacing toe-kicks. The names are Pioneer, and Deko expanded black. It is 54" wide and you buy it by the running yard. It varies in price from store to store, but is usually around $6.99 to 11.99 per running yard, depending on the name of the one you chose for your purpose. The Deko is thicker than the Pioneer, and has less "graining". Either would also make excellent slip-on cover making material.
