Hi, I am looking for the tuck and roll cabinets that used the ALTEC 811 Horn with two 15" woofers. I understand these were used in the 300 and 600 large PA systems and in the 250 and 500 series guitar amp systems.

Cabinets can be empty, broken or otherwise non-functional. I have lots of parts to make them work. An alternative would be to take two of the larger cabinets and replace the front baffle to get the horn and woofers in.

What I am looking at doing is to get a pair of these for one of my Tango Sound Systems. I love the look of the tuck and roll speakers, think they would be rather unique in the Argentine Tango world. Some of you may think this is heresy, but after I'm done, they would sound great and be rather Hi-Fi. We used to repair these amps and speakers in our old shop back in the day, many people came to us because we were also an ALTEC sound contractor.

As an fellow who sold many ALTEC MI Systems, I hate the destruction of these great old speakers by those who want to make a quick buck by selling the components on Ebay. I have contacted many of these sellers about buying the parent cabinets, and almost always they have been thrown out. To me, the newer sound systems sound horrid, the old stuff was far better. Just doing my part to keep this great stuff out of the landfills.
