As we say down south, "Y'all shoulda been there" There is no way to tell about everything the weekend brought. Fantastic does not come close. Many old friends made the trip and many names on this board are now faces and friends as well. ( I would try to name them but I would forget somebody...but you know who you are)Amps, stories, jam session, pictures, people who built them the places they were built....it all exceeded my expectations. I know some absolutely could not make it and that is most unfortunate. The best news is that we all had a GREAT time and forged new friendships which only makes our little family grow. Kustom folks are the best folks I know! I hope all had a safe trip home! Neil did a fantastic job getting all the details worked out.....many thanks again! BC

OK, we want pictures, video files and audio files. A detailed chronology of events would be great, too.
Other than that, we're pretty apathetic about the whole thing. (Kidding, of course!!!)

Hey guys,
It appears that you all had a "great" time. It would have been nice to attend and meet up with you all as you guys appear to be a good group of guys with a purpose of "enjoying" Kustom. You can read it in your posts.
I have been watching the site over the weekend in anticipation of hearing updates of what was going on. I too would love to see some pictures and if any videos were taken, maybe a link to that.
Keep us posted.

Well, You all summed it up on the button. I don't know how it could have been better, other than the a/c being cooler, and us old coots remembering to bring a fan for the stage! Janet and I had more fun than we have had in ages. I really enjoyed playing AND listening to other musicians play in the jam. What a ball. No big fat egos, just everyone enjoying playing and visiting. I would have liked to have had power to some of the amps in the display area to try out and compare. There were SO MANY! Gotta hear those Altecs BC talks about!
It was great to see the faces that go with all the emails we have exchanged for the last several years. I know Bud and Carolyn and families had a good time as well. Hearing the employees reminisce about the old days at Kustom was great, too. I found out that my aunt worked there for several years and was quite a card at work.
I wish there was more time to visit one on one with all who came. Didn't get much time to visit Chicago Bill and Gina, Craig and Jeanette, and many others, but made lots of new friends as the event went on. Joey Bent is a gas on the sax and really fun to be around. Even his dad, Dan, isn't too bad! haha.
I can't say how much this all meant to me, but let it suffice to say that is was one of the highlights of my life! And if anyone deserves a medal, it is Neil Leverenz, who organized the whole thing! Ok, I'm gonna stumble off the soapbox. Enjoy those Kustoms.

Probably the easiest way to post pictures for everyone would be with a service like Flickr, but I'd be happy to host them at my combo-organ.com website. Irfanview has a neat feature that creates a quick web page with thumbnails from a batch of pictures, and I could post a "hidden" link that wouldn't show up on any search engines. Anyone interested feel free to send pics to robert@combo-organ.com. I think I can take up to about 10MB per email.
Now, did y'all have a chance to answer the burning question that's puzzled everyone: "Which Kolor sounds best"?

You are thanking the wrong person.
There where many people that helped this event happen.
Don, Bryan, JC and others made the decision back in 2007 to have an event in Chanute, Ks. Don picked the June 27th weekend to have it.
David Bideau, Chanute, Ks. deserves most of the credit.
David contacted Jane Brophy, Chanute Area Chamber of Commerce & Office of Tourism, to see if they would back this event. Jane contacted me for more information. I went to high school with her.
Jane set up the tour at Kustom Signals. Jane also contacted the Chanute Tribune to run a story before the event. Jane also contacted the Super 8 motel to let them know we were coming to town. Jane also asked the Tribune to bring us extra copies of the aritcal in the newspaper. It was also Jane who asked the newspaper to send someone out to do a follow up artical.
David Bideau set up the tour of the guitar factory.
It was my wife who mentioned that we need some sort of liablity insurance. I emailed David about it and he agreed. It was David that went out of his way to get this insurance, and paid for most of it.
David B. also contacted Nu Way campers, in case we needed a secure place to park our trailers. David B. gave them my email addres so I could let them know if we needed it.
David B. also contacted Mike Sutcliff at the radio station to see about doing a radio spot. David made the arrangements.
My wife talked to her sister about the country club ballroom. To see if it would be a good place and what we needed to do there. Her sister told my wife that the food was great there, but, we would have to clean the place up to get it ready for the public. I phoned the club to book June 27th.
Don T. made the cool flyer that was used around town.
David B., Jane B. and my brother put the flyers up around town.
Don T. made the cool name badges we all had.
Don T. started the write up for the newspaper. All the collectors chimmed in with different ideas for it.
I emailed it to the Chanute Tribune. The editor took out all the collectors names in it and made it sound like it was me talking.
Bryan Sawyer complied a list of who all was coming and bringing what. Complete with email addresses and phone numbers. Also for the Kustom Te-shirts and guitar picks.
Tom W. also brought Kustom Te-shirts.
Don T. was a big factor in getting most of the collectors to come. Don deserves a lot of credit for bringing this event together. Acturally, I believe he is the main person who thought about going to Chanute in the first place. He is also the one that started this thread on this web site, in the first place.
Dan B. and many others compiled the list of the sounds that the musicians where going to play. And, in what Key.
Bill Collin, Parson Ks. also deserves credit for getting the word out and putting up flyers and putting something in the Parsons newspaper. If it weren't for Bill, we would of not had
a drummer for this event.
My brother Larry deserves credit along with Carolyn Ross for notifing all the past employees. They are the ones who got all these past employees out there.
Thank Bud Ross for also getting the word out and for bringing his old band mates to this event.
Thank Carolyn Ross for all the great pictures she brought.
She had a lot to do, behind the scenes, in making this a great event.
Dan O. sent the cool kustom patend to Bill C. to have the group and Bud sign. Thank them for this.
Thanks guys, but, your thanking the wrong person. It took a lot of people, including yourselves to put this event together.
So, thank these people listed above for what all they contributed to make this event a success.
I only booked the event at the club, sent the write up to the newspaper, and kept you all posted on what was going on.
Thanks guys, but, the credit needs to go to the right people.
I want to thank my wife for being such a great wife, in still wanting me to go to this event, during a difficult weekend, where I should of stayed home and taken care of business. Instead, she stayed home and did it all.

Now that you mention it Neil, what the hell did you do?
I too really enjoyed making new friends, Andrea and Dee! WOW, did you guys check out Dee's legs? OUTSTANDING!
By the way, if anybody out there that couldn't attend would like a T-Shirt from the event let me know, I've got leftovers! I also have 4" and 10" Picks along with 10" Pick Clocks, and they all say "Kustom by Ross!"
