Time for some throbbing brain action. I saw a K200 head yesterday that had the typical K200B1 right channel, Volume, bass, treble and bright switch. However, the left channel had volume, bass, treble with bright switch and a 3 position selectone switch. The model tag was missing but it is a K200 plexi face. WHAT IS THIS??????

Hey Conrad! You have found a K200B-6 Selectone 200. This looks like a 200 series experiment with what came to be standard in the 250 series amps. I have seen literature of these pictured with unusual cabinet configerations......4x10....2x12+2x10.....2x15+2x10.....and 1x15+2x10. In most of them the 2x10s are isolated in a closed part of the cabinet. My 1x15+2x10 cabinet is the same size as a 2x15....but the top has a sealed box for the 10's and the ports are the smaller size like the ones found in the 100 series cabinets. BC!

these were the rigs that gave me wierd dreams for so many years...cause in my youth I thought I was aware of all the kustom plexi models.. I only imagined cab configurations like these..used to get bad grades in class cause I'd sit and draw pics of kustom assembliges...and they included loading 10s in the upper 15 position...never realizing that great minds in a position to actually do something about it, were in fact creating these rigs! the real problem is... I DON'T OWN ANY MYSELF!!!!...but I'll be alright..don't nobody worry bout me...

So the selectone switch enables you to switch between the speakers? I have a 200 with 2x12's and 2x10's in it but no such switch in the head. I have a friend who has the only one in this area and his head has no such switch either. The cab is wired to 4 ohms. I checked the impedance long ago.

I found the selectone version in the literature section under the supplements. It seems it was a late addition to the K200 line. These had the 2x10-1x15 etc cabinets. The selectone was some sort of tone variation switch. It probably changed the frequency characteristics of the amp. It doesn´t switch speakers.

Well, you are close Conrad... The selectone switch is exactly what is put on the 150/250 series heads. It is a tone shaping modifier. It is awesome! This head with it on is kinda rare, and is the pre-cursor to the 150/250 heads that I love so much. Deb
