I saw this on some older posts, but there wasn't an answer. The colored Naugahyde is called Zodiac. What's the Black called? Garys Upholstery lists a lot of different series. the "NaugaLeather" looks close, but it's hard to be certain. Anyone know?

Is there a name for the Black (like "Zodiac" for the colors)? Gary's upholstery lists a LOT of different Naugahyde, each with it's own name. It's a lot to wade through, and it's hard to tell just from pictures on the website.

Good idea! I've done just that, and will report back here if I get an answer.

He replied that he did not know what the name of the black naugahyde was. rats.
I guess the best way would be to send him a sample to match. Unfortunately, I don't own any Black T&R. My interest was due to that 3x15 cabinet I found on Craigslist. The guy amended his listing to say it didn't have a back. He says he has matching fabric, but my query about whether it was exact match Naugahyde or just a similar black vinyl went un-answered.
He did drop the price to $75, but I dunno. $25 worth of Naugahyde added to the price, plus jack, jack plate, oval-head stainless screws and washers, a piece of plywood large enough, and the hassle of putting it all together, plus even only $135 for those cheap Eminence speakers on eBay would bring the total price to over $250 plus a bit of work. Not sure it's worth it.

For 75.00 you can't go wrong. I wouldn't worry about the back of the cabinet. Not many people will ever see it. Just make the back, Switchcraft 151 jack is a simple way to install the jack. It is about 1 1/2 long threaded all the way so it will mount with only one hole drilled in the wood. Get the speakers and enjoy the cab. If you find out you really like the sound, then go back and add the black material to the back, and dress it up a bit. If the cabinet has ports, logo, casters and handles, you have 75.00 worth in parts alone.
