First, let me say "Hi" to all you folks. Haven't posted a while (Didn't have much to say).
Recently purchased an Ampeg B-100R 1x15 combo. This was to avoid dragging the Kustom 2x15 around for informal jams. Both amps are 100w rms. Just for fun, I put them sided-by-side. The tone on my Kustom K200 B-1 was just as good as the Ampeg. But the volume.....Holy Decibels Batman! The Kustom blew away the Ampeg. I don't know if its due to the two speakers vs. one speaker or what. All I know is that my 35 year old Kustom neve ceases to amaze me.
P.S.
Don't get me wrong - the Ampeg is a great amp, too.

I had a dude bring out a huge 8x10 ampeg amp once. He was the bass player. He also had a nice new Ric bass. He ended up asking to a Kustom for every gig we played. The ampeg big though it was just could'nt cut.
He really loved the double cab Kustom though. He tried to buy it. You know how far that got.
