hello, i'm new to this board and i have small problem, i cant figure out what kind of kustom i have!. I'm only 15 years old but i have been playing guitar for 3 and a half years and have built up quite a collection of kustoms but this one blows my mind. The Amp has the same didtinct features of a 200 A series, A black aluminum face instead of plexi, the two circuit breakers for the amp and speaker overload, and the harmonic clipper and selective boost woth the clipper volume in the place of the latter 200 b series where a footswitch plug is. It was made in 1967 when kustom was owned by ross but the model number doesnt say k 200 a 3, what it says is "IJ+1ll-3w/P" and on top of that it says the original color is cascade(I have never seen a kustom evr indicating the original color before anywhere before) and the serial number is 16369. If someone could please let me know what kind of amp this is That would be awesome, thanks for your tim,
cooper

I believe the designation on your amp is "1J+1H-3W/P". Before Kustom began standardizing the designation on the heads, they designated the amp (head and cab together) as a unit. The head you have would have been sold with a 2-15 cab containing one 15" Jensen speaker and 1 15" high Frequency "Police Siren" horn, hence the "1J+1H". The "-3" designates the model 3 head (no effects on the left channel and Clipper and Boost on the right channel). The "W/P" designated "with ports" as the aluminum ports were optional on these early amps. These early designations did, of course include a color on the tag. Hope this helps.
