Well last night, I had my K200-A4 go into meltdown and I need to get in there to fix a number of problems besides the meltdown. But there is a problem that has plagued all of my Kustom amps and that is cell phone interference. A close proximity cell phone will inject lots of clicks, pops and other noise, especially if the phone is on AT&T. I plan on installing thin aluminum shielding on the open sides of the chassis and I was wondering if there was more I can do

I think I would try a sheet of metal over the top of the chassis to see if it stops the interference. Years ago I had a K100-1 amp that if I set my cell phone on the top of the amp I would get that clicking noise. I didn't try to shield the amp, just didn't set my phone on the amp to solve problem.
I do have a K150 2x10 amp that will click randomly with my smart phone near the amp, but that is the only Kustom of all my kustoms now that will react to my smartphone.

Have you considered foil lining the inside of the cabinet?

At this point in time, I haven't attempted any solution. It is very annoying as everyone else in the band is on AT&T. I need to repair a number of amps that have a dead channel. I will foil the inside but I thought that a rigid cover, screwed permanently to the chassis would be a good idea.

Nothing wrong with a solid cover, just thought that foil would be easier and more complete. Faraday shields are really a lost art now.

If this is an A head, then watch out for the power transistors on the bottom of the chassis. Maybe a strip of Gaffer's tape over the foil where the transistors sit.

This A4 needs more work on the Clipper side and last night it had a couple of loud pops and went into a loud current hum with a dimmed lamp, indicating that an output transistor or 2 may be suspect. I am hoping it could be a connection issue but we didn't let it go too long. I like the JBL'S too much to fry those. The popping noise makes me think it's a connection problem. I will look at it soon.
