Kustom Info / Modifications [message #497] Mon, 23 April 2001 20:01 Go to next message

INFO: Recently acquired a K200B-3 (Harmonic Clipper/Selective Boost). What is the proper footswitch for this unit? Was an "Owners Manual", parts list, schematic, etc. ever made for this unit? MODIFICATIONS: My unit is picking up some radio station (I'm not sure if it's AM, FM or short wave. Usually south pacific ethnic music and news in English w/ accent only at night). Are any mods easily done to eliminate this problem? Can a timed relay be installed for speaker protection?

Robbie, the footswitch is probably like the ones everybody is selling. The aluminum rectangle two button switch with a TRS 1/4 inch plug. It wouldn't matter if the switch was labeled revb, trem or the harmonic clipper/selective boost. Both pedals had the same wiring. The radio noise is interesting. I would make sure the speaker cable is non shielded, and if your using a coil cord for the instrument hookup, I would switch to a good straight shielded. I would also try pluging the amp into a different outlet somewhere else in the house. I recommend replacing the original 110V cord with a newer three prong grounded outlet. For the time being, you could also try grounding the amp chassis to the ground pin of the outlet you are using. I know even in short mic cable runs and wrapping the cable around a mic stand, invites radio interference. Not much fun jamming at a club and you hear breaker, breaker. What part of the country are you located? Hope this may help. Don
