I really need to get the power cords on my Kustoms converted to 3-wire. Is there a source for 3-wire cords that are as long as the originals,or nearly so, approximately the same cord thickness, and (ideally) have the little clip on the plug that allows it to secure itself to another cord wrap?

I have used the Bissell Deep Cleaner cords. They are 33' long with a molded cord clip. I believe I bought from this place, http://www.vacpartswarehouse.com/Bissell-Cord-Set-33-3-wire- 17-GA-p/2102895.htm This is a perfect replacement as it is a small enough gauge to fit in the original cord restraint with no modifications. There is a molded piece that is on the wire end that fits into the cleaner but that can be cut off and still have plenty of cord length left. Just wind it on the cord wraps in reverse with the plug somewhere in the middle between the wraps. Then get the length you want, you may have to cut off a few feet, so you know where it goes into the amp. The Bissell part number is 2102895.

Which looks exactly like the one my local vacuum store had for $25. They're on eBay too:

If this is the same cord you have (and I suspect it is, since they're so common and all look the same), will it fit very well into my existing strain relief? It appears to be 18ga, which I assume is what the original was, so I would suspect the 3rd wire would make it larger, just wondering how much so. I'll probably just buy the one locally, and deal with the strain relief as needed.
50ft! My goodness, I don't think I've ever seen a vacuum with a cord that long! (I will, of course, be shortening it!)

Oh, I've got access to tons of IEC cables. I work in the IT department for a hospital, and we literally throw away boxes of them because we get new ones in with every server, but we buy our own separately (the Dell-supplied cables are too long).
Anyway, I like the vacuum cord idea because of the cord clip, and also the ribbed texture is more like the original.
I'm going to try to go buy one today. I'll report back on how well it fits, especially the strain relief.

Picked it up yesterday at the local vacuum store. $23(ouch!). Works great, looks as much like the original as you could ask for, and did indeed fit in the strain relief with a bit of help from channel-locks (definitely the best tool for the job).
