Ok guys I have a lead on a Kustom 250 with a 1x18 cabinet Black tuck 'n Roll. $500.00. Is this a good deal??? How rare is the 1x18 anyway?

At first glance, 500.00 might not be a bad price. They offered that cab from 71 until they converted to the hard tolex amps. I sold the K500 system that had the second cab with the power module in the back. I sold mine for 800, head and two cabs with covers in very good condition in 03. Killer amp to say the least, but size is a big turn off for most players, which offers the buyer a bit of leverage if you want to move a monster. Condition both cosmetic and electronics will determine value as well. Original speaker? Casters in good shape? Is the speaker cabinet an early model made from plywood or a later version that is particle board? Particle board cabs are really, really heavy. I guess you'd have to consider how close the amp is to you. Shipping one would at least double the price. I sold the Acoustic folded 18 version to a guy in the UK he paid 1380.00 in shipping charges and only paid 1200 for the amp and cabinet.
If it's something you want, I'd go for it, as I always say, you can't go the Guitar Center and order a new 40 year old Kustom Tuck and Roll amp.

The amp is local, so picking it up wouldn't be an issue I guess. I own the Acoustic 360 set up as well, bad ass rig, I have the original Vega speaker in it, original foot switch also. That would be an amazing rig the two cabinets and the 250 amp. What do I need to look for in the wood? I'm going to try to see it tomorrow, I'm actually picking up a charcoal 2x15 tomorrow! Very Happy I love the rigs, just having them and possibly gig'n once and a while with them when i play out doors. What was the original speaker in that cab? A way to identify it? Thanks for your help, Ill post a status when Im back from looking at it!

The original speaker was a CTS made driver and was basicly A higher wattage version of the standard 15" model, same magnet and all.
That driver can`t hold a candle to the Cerwin Vega driver that came in the 360.

Yeah I bet. I actually have a spare 18" Vega driver, not the exact model but the same specs, it was the next gen of driver, any how, this guy who has it.. I have dealt with him before. He had a plush cab I was interested in, When I found time to come and look at it he said ah, I think I'm gonna keep it. Now he's pulling this crap with this rig. I don't know why people just can't pull the trigger on a deal. So I guess now its the waiting game until he feels he can truly sell.. LAME-O

Since you have the 360 you already know the characteristics of a folded horn cabinet. They were the rage in the early to mid 70s but I found them hard to hear on stage ( I still have my old 370 ) when the volume was right for the room. Nice for outdoor gigs or as a PA sub cab but I would not use one today without a front facing cabinet for a monitor. If you want it as a collector piece.....jump on it. Like the man said, "they ain't makin' 'em anymore." BC Cool

BC, your right, I've used mine for subs on my PA. ran one cabinet each side of stage and ran 2x15 JBL Kustom cabs for the low mids and Peavey MF1X horn for the tops. I have some photo's of that set up. Kick drum 40 feet out had that punch you in the chest thump. Awesome cabs and not that hard to move with casters on everything.
