Hello Out There!

I fired up my Kustom Kombo II organ after many months of inactivity - and was so happy that it seemed to work as it always had - every key, every slider, every side button, basically everything worked just fine.

I have always gone out of the "Expression Pedal" output to my amp or PA, as this output was always way hotter than the other 1/4" jack output right next to it.

After playing the organ for awhile, I think what happened is that I decided to try the other output to see how it was faring, and it was low as usual, and when I plugged back into the "Expression Pedal" output I noticed a ton of "white noise" not ground hum coming at me. Every function on the organ still works, but the white noise is so significant it is really unplayable.

I'm not 100% sure that the issue emanated from my switching between the outputs - but it happened around the time I did the output jack switching.

I of course tried different cables, different amps, different wall circuit, etc etc, but the organ is just generating a ton of "white noise".

I even tried an EbTech hum eliminator, but it's not 60 cycle hum.. I know that when I hear it.

Sure hoping I get some ideas from you fellow Kustom enthusiasts. The thought of hauling this thing in to a local tech gives me stomach pains - these aren't your Average Bears, and any ideas for who can repair this thing anywhere in the mid-South (AZ - Texas - Oklahoma - Louisiana) - please let me know!

Many Many Thanks to my fellow Kustom Heads!

The Expression pedal jack should be a Tip Ring Sleeve 1/4" jack that would be used to hook up the volume pedal that was supplied with the organ. If you've been using that jack as a feed to your amplifier, I'm surprised that it's worked for as long as it did or that it worked at all unless you inserted the cable half way or the first click. Not much help here. I have the schematic for the Kombo 1 organ but not the Kombo 2.

Thanks for that info!

Wondering if/why using a guitar cable out of that jack would cause issues...

Also just wondering out loud if it's a cap issue.

But so many thanks to all.

I do have the schematics!
