K100 cord replacement / switch wiring [message #8627]

Hello - Can somebody point me to the instructions for installing a 3-prong power cord in a K100? I'm finding a lot of posts that refer to the instructions, but can't seem to find the instructions themselves. Embarassed

I was just in a friends recording studio over the weekend to say Hi and he was fixing some tracks that where already recorded that needed some tonal change.so he was running the track back down thru some addition gear and back to thru a bass amp and then back thru a mic.
We tryed out 2 different bass amps for their tonal range and on both amps we had to use a ground lift adapter to get rid of the ground loop buzz issue he had.
The fact is a 3 prong grounded a/c plug does not make equipment more quite, it just makes them safer.
To install the 3 prong cord you will have to cut out the death cap that is hooked up to one side of your power switch, most times its a brown colored .022 cap.Then is just a matter of screwing the green wire from the new cord down to the chassie some where near the power transformer and then hooking up the new white and black wire to where the old ones where.

Hi Steve - I wanted to thank you for all your help with my friend's Kustom 100 - I replaced the diode, super-glued the reverb transformers, replaced the cord, and the beast now works great!

It belongs to a friend that bought it new in 1969 or 70, along with a red Hagstrom Viking (ES-335 style) which I also fixed up for him. He often comes out here (Connecticut) from Idaho in the fall to jam and I'm sure he'll be very pleased that his 37-year-old rig is still up to the task of making music.
