Hi folks,
I'm an old geezer, but used to love playing through the old Kustoms back around'69 & '70. I recently picked up an old Kustom 200 head, and a Kustom 100 cabinet with 2-12" Jensens. I understand that bass will shred the Jensens, should they be okay if I'm "subtle". Maybe it be worth picking up a 2-15" K200 cab (which I haven't been able to finf), or replace the Jensens with CTS. It's not my main amp, just thought it would be fun to gig with in an intimate setting.

I play bass through a K200 and a 3x12 cabinet loaded with the more recent (1990s?) "Kustom/Eminence Turbo" speakers, which I understand were supposed to be similar to the Jensens from the 60s. Either way, they're both sold as guitar speakers. I use a Broughton HPF to keep all the really low stuff out (which tightens up the sound nicely - I'd use it no matter what cab I was playing through), and I never turn the volume past 12-o'clock. I've done 3 or 4 gigs with it, and haven't blown a speaker yet. With just two (presumably) 16ohm speakers, the K200 isn't going to put out it's full rated 100 watts anyway, so that helps.
I'd say yeah, if you don't push it hard, you should be fine. But a 2x15 cab with CTS would be even better. I'd like to get one myself (or a 3x15!), but ya gotta wait for those deals to show up.

With good used vintage Jensen C12N drivers like you have in that k100 cab going for over 150 bucks used, why the heck would you chance blowing them , especially since they roll off frequency responce below a open A on a Bass.
Get those out and replace them with a Eminence Delta 12 in the 8 ohm version.
These will work well with cubic footage of that cabinet.
