Hands down, period would be JBL D140's for bass and D130's for guitar unless you want to build your muscles then I would put in JBL E140's. For a pair of E140's I would use the K200 Head to be the preamp and use the speaker outs to an 800 watt amp actually pushing the speakers. I have done this in the past and it works very well, Just keep the Kustom volume control less than the 9:00 position and don't overdrive the power amp.

This is such a subjective topic,I like to get good top end when I play slap or with a pick, but I do not like the spikey top you get with a bass driver and a horn so one lead type 15 and one bass works best for my needs. And you left one of my top choises out of the poll,EV!I have Altec 418Bs 421H and 421As, jbl k140s, CTS, and Electro voice EVM bass and lead, and for me what I like and need for bass are combinations like a 418b with a 421a, or a 421a with a evm bass, or a evm lead with a evm bass, or a 421a with jbl k140 or a 421H.You can not go wrong with any of these drivers for bass, they are all great drivers and loud!Eminence also makes top of the line drivers, and carvin uses them. One thing for sure do not throw out your old CTS drivers, hang on to them or sell them to a kustom or a sunn amp lover.
