I'm working on a K200B PA head (serial No 56053) for a friend. He has owned the amp for fifty years and it's never been serviced. Originally was in a bar until his uncle gave it to him. It has a Gibbs reverb tank that only has one spring but looks like it is configured for two springs. The Gibbs input and output both measure 186-186 ohms and both are grounded. After cleaning connectors there is a little reverb with the pot full on. I tried an Accutronics tank I have - 4FB2C1B - and after I grounded the input the reverb was a little better. Questions: Everything I have read says the original tank configuration is not available - true? What is an acceptable signal lever on the tank output transformer with reverb full on at full volume? Do you see any problem using the Accutronics tank as a permanent solution? Thank you all for the help.

Hi.

It's good that both the input and output transducers do not test open on the original tank as you have found.
If you pm me I will explain to you how to take parts from the new tank and get the old more valuable original tank working again.
