Pricing on any item will always be based upon condition, location, rarity, demand and most importantly economy. In a bad economy, just like your house, every collectible loses value.
Kustom guitars were not made in the kind of quantities that the major guitar companies ran, so they are somewhat rare. That being said, there is nowhere near as much demand for Kustom guitars as there is for Gibson and Fender guitars. Maybe if Slash or one of the Jonas brothers began playing vintage Kustom guitars the demand would skyrocket.
Condition is always a factor in value. How original the piece is and what the overall condition is will greatly effect the overall value. And sometimes specific models will be valued differently based upon features or finishes. Original case and any "case candy" will also add to the value of the guitar.
Geographic location always plays a part in "the going rate" of things. In the larger cities prices tend to be higher than in rural small towns.
A few years ago, $600-$700 was probably going rate on a good, clean 200B. Today it seems a little high, depending upon the condition. etc.

Thanks for the replies all. I am going to go look at the guitar again tomorrow, so now I have at least some feel for what it is worth. The guitar was in very good shape, and if I recall correctly, the case was original and also in good shape. Thanks again for the replies, much appreciated.

I have a proto-type custom color green sparkle sunburst K200A guitar and rectangular case for sale on craigslist. The owner I bought it from worked at Kustom and said they only did two in that color. Bud verified it when I showed it to him last June. I also have a post on the Comment Board listed in the Kustom Guitar Pickups post that shows a lot of differences in the guitars from start to finish.

I have photo's of the green sparkle K200A guitar. I do have a problem with Rich Stephens who has been using my uncredited photo on the Broadway Music site for years of the Natural K200A guitar and red Bass. He has used my photo and refused to add credits after several attempts to contact him. So until that is resolved, I'm not interested in posting any photo's so he can steal another copywrited photo.
