I was given a Kasino 200 Bass amp model K-252 recently.
It has the striped grill cloth, rear wheels, and is loaded
with 2 15's.(Japan on magnets). It does not work, but I am just very interested in any information anyone might have on this amp. Year made, retail cost, current value, speaker info, practical uses now...anything at all! Thanks, and as I am a new member I hope I am following proper guidelines to posting.
I have never posted in a forum before.

Welcome to the site. Your cabinet has had replacement speakers loaded in it. Kasino never used speakers from Japan. CTS speakers would have been installed new from the factory. The matching amp head and cabinet retailed at 545.00 in July 1971. Kasino did offer a matching extension speaker cabinet that had it's own built in power amp and retailed for 450.00
Current value is a tough question, cosmetic condition, and what type of speakers you install in the cabinet will effect what it's worth. Someone with the matching head and wants to complete his amp with a matching cabinet might pay more than someone who is just looking for a speaker cabinet. If your thinking of selling it, I wouldn't put any money in new speakers for it. You would be better off selling it empty.
Practical uses, again depends on what speakers are in it. The cabinet was designed as a bass guitar cabinet, so I'd stay with bass speakers.

Thanks for helping me out with this amp info! You mentioned a
matching extension speaker cabinet that had it's own built in power amp. I wonder if thats what I have. The amp is built into the cabinet right above the speakers. Almost like a rack mount setup/size. It can be removed by taking out two screws on each side of the cabinet and sliding it out. So its like a combo, not a separate amp/cabinet setup. Also, since you said the speakers are replacements, any idea how to tell if they are actually bass
speakers and not say, guitar speaker, etc? The speakers do work, I tested them this morning. So it must be the amp section that is no good. This thing reminds me of an Ampeg SVT 4 10 cabinet.
Only it has 2 15's in it.
Thanks for educating me on whatever I have!

Woop's my mistake, I should have looked at my catalog and not just the price sheet. Your amp would be a self contained amp and speaker cabinet housed in one box. Two large roller wheels on the back side to transport it. You can click on the Literature tab, click Kasino tab, and the catalog with the big amp with wing speakers on it will get you to the 252 model.
If the speakers are working, then there must be a problem with the amplifier section, which should be that hard to repair. Parts are still ava. and the amp should have PC5013 and PC5024 circuit boards.
As far as the speakers that are in the cabinets, it's impossible to tell what you have without some photo's or speaker code numbers.

You have been a great help, you described my amp perfectly. I have been trying to find out info on this amp for quite awhile. Glad I found this forum!
One last question..where is the Literature tab to click on you mentioned?

There are no tabs of any kind anywhere. hmmm...
is there a preference I neglected to check when signing up?
I am at a loss here on this. Im not a newbie to computers,
All I have in my topic view is messages and replies which all looks very normal to me. Any idea why I dont show any tabs? I have gone through all the other pages- home, search, help, etc.
none of which show any tabs on the left side of the page.

On the left side of this site there is a blue verital area and at the top of the it, it says Vintage Kustom, below it is a Gold T&R rectangle and says Main, below the main tab there is a red Literature rectangle. The third blue Weboard tab and so on. If your screen does not show the blue area on the left side, I don't know what to tell you to correct it.

Just a hunch: Try entering the website via Google (search "vintage kustom") instead of from a bookmark.
